Those tiny toes and delicate features will change so much in the first couple of weeks. It's amazing to look back and see how small they once were. Those images always bring back special feelings that are hard to describe until your little ones are big.
I photograph babies on their own, with siblings and with the whole family. I have a lovely large barn studio in Kettering at Glendon Farm Lodge. There's an area to relax whilst I capture your baby or babies! I love to use backdrops and outfits that work with your home and favourite colours. Neutrals are always timeless but if you love a pop of colour I have blankets and some outfits or wraps to choose from.
I choose to photograph a newborn baby at around 10 days old in my studio. All babies are different however most newborn poses you will have seen are taken around this time, when baby is happiest to be wrapped and settled for a photograph. I have photographed babies around 5-6 weeks old in the newborn style. The older the baby the more awake shots you will have, and the fewer posed shots will be achieved due to the alertness. I will still get some beautiful images you will cherish.
As soon as possible. I know that most parents are worried about how they will feel after the birth and tend to wait to see what happens. Due to the nature of unpredictable births, I only take on a set amount of newborns a month to ensure I will have availablity. I do however give you the option to postpone the session to another suitable age, should you decide that newborn is too soon. The session retainer is valid for 6 months. When baby arrives I usually ask a family member to message me as soon as possible so that I can reply with the next available date. At this point as the parents you can decide to postpone the session for a further amount of weeks up until 6mths of age.
I prefer to keep things simple and classic, unless we are styling you to match a theme that has meaning to you and your family. I ask family members to keep to the same colours and varied tones of those if possible, no logs and least amount of jewellery apart from wedding rings or anything which has meaning. Baby will be wrapped up as newborn clothes are baggy and tend to bunch up around and hide the chin. A part of my consultation includes clothing and styling.
At your request I can arrange for hair and make-up to take place while I am photographing baby first. Some families will have this prepared or go for a more natural look. The importance of this is that you feel and look your best, whatever is most natural to you will make you the most comfortable.

The baby shower gift can include a set amount towards the session, or the whole session. It will be valid for a year so that they can capture them in the first year. Anyone who books a baby shower gift will receive a free appearance to photograph everyone at their baby shower event at the start. * subject to availability and the alternative is a maternity session.
