Newborn Studio Guide: Capturing Precious Moments in Kettering Welcome to My Studio!
Located in the charming Glendon Farm Complex/Lodge on Rushton Road, Kettering, NN14 1QF, my cozy barn studio awaits you and your newborn. Situated just off the A43 toward Corby, there's ample parking available. Next door, you'll find the Kolaine Beauty Lounge (https://www.kolainebeautylounge.com), where you can pre-book makeup and other treatments to enhance your experience. Need a delicious treat? Look no further than "The Fox and Peony" café, conveniently located around the corner. And if you're up for it, why not take a leisurely countryside stroll with your family after the session? If you'd like assistance with hair and makeup, simply let me know. Hair styling and curling are priced at £25, while makeup application is available for £35 midweek and £40 for Saturday’s. It's advisable to schedule these services at least 2-3 weeks in advance.

Studio Temperature

Before your arrival, I do my best to warm up the barn to a pleasant 20 degrees. However, if you tend to feel chilly, feel free to bring along some cozy slippers. For hygiene purposes and to avoid pebble dust, I kindly request that you remove your outdoor shoes and wear indoor shoes instead.

The session

Creating Lasting Memories To ensure a relaxed and enjoyable experience, I prefer not to dive straight into the photo shoot. Instead, let's take a moment to get to know each other over a cup of tea, if time allows. If you've brought a change of clothes, we can discuss your outfit choices. Having been in front of the camera myself, I understand how daunting it can be, so my priority is to help you feel at ease. We can sit and chat in the lounge area of my studio before determining the session's direction based on your desired final look and image. Your preferred home decor styles can provide valuable insights into the backdrops and image types that will best suit your taste. Some families prefer a bright white background to make their images stand out, even if their home has darker walls. Others opt for the simplicity of white or grey, creating a timeless look that pairs well with simple frames. And then there are those whose homes lend themselves to vibrant, fine art-style images with rich colors and opulent frames. Feel free to communicate your preferences in advance. During the session, I'll capture a mix of relaxed and posed images, providing you with a diverse selection to choose from. Often, clients express a preference for natural, non-camera-facing shots but end up selecting images where they do engage with the camera. It's common to discover your preferences once you see the results. My aim is to capture your authentic self while also creating portraits that showcase your likeness and will be cherished by you, your family, and friends. Personal Touches and Special Items If you have any special cultural items, objects, blankets, throws, or props that hold sentimental value to your family, I encourage you to bring them along. I'm open to incorporating these meaningful elements into the session. Your suggestions and input are always welcome.

Newborn preparation

Newborns have their own unique schedules, but if possible, feeding your baby before leaving home can help ensure a more comfortable session. Dressing your little one in easily removable clothing is also recommended. We'll take breaks for feeding and settling as needed during the shoot. If your baby uses a pacifier, please bring it along.

What to bring/clothing

or newborn sessions, simple and uncluttered outfits work best. Avoid patterns and logos whenever possible. When photographing families, it's ideal to coordinate outfits in similar tones, avoiding stark contrasts like one person in white and another in black. Harmonious tones work beautifully together. If you're unsure, feel free to bring a couple of outfits for variety. To assist with outfit coordination, you can lay out the outfits on a bed or share pictures of your preferences if you live in separate households. Just remember, pink and red tend to clash the most. I'm more than happy to provide guidance if needed. Check out my Pinterest page for some inspiration:

After the session

Cherishing Your Memories It typically takes around two weeks for me to edit your images unless there are specific deadlines for special occasions. I pay close attention to finer details, so please let me know if there's anything you'd like me to correct in Photoshop or if you prefer no retouching at all. We'll schedule another appointment for you to view the images, which may be done via an online gallery depending on timing and image packages. If you're interested in frames or wall art collections, they will be showcased in the studio, and you can view the prices on my investment page in advance. Once you've made your selections, the chosen products will be ordered and delivered to you within 5 weeks. If you purchase any digital images from the collection, they will be available for download the same or next day. The USB containing the digital images will be delivered along with the prints and products. I hope you find the above information helpful. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any further questions or to discuss your specific requirements. I'm excited to welcome you to my studio and capture these precious moments, transforming them into beautiful pieces of art for your home. Warm regards, Julietta
